Don't have time to predict class winners, but will predict overall winners for each show: Feel free to shred my predictions

BOA Memphis

  • Hernando, MS sneaks the win over Germantown, MS

Danville:

  • Mahomet - 2nd: Champaign Central

Downers Grove:

  • Munster, IN takes the trophy, with Plainfield North in 2nd (a toss-up in my head)

Effingham:

  • Mascoutah wins it all, with 3A band Newton taking 2nd place

Morton:

  • Normal - Davenport Central 2nd (would not surprise me if its close)

Providence Catholic:

Lincoln Way- VJA in 2nd

Would not be surprised if Galesburg got very competitive and got 2nd at Morton. But also, I don't know how good Davenport Central are this year, I know they are usually very decent.

I'm not sure where Galesburg is actually at right now. Last week made it seem like they're off their game. Of course it could have just been a weird score at Dunlap.

They certainly aren’t the Andy Empey Galesburg that once looked like it could compete with Morton but they’re still a force to be reckoned with. If you interrogate the recap from Dunlap, the judges in every caption disagreed between Galesburg vs. IVC which, to me, is a prime example of inconsistent judging. Today will be their test, I think. And it’s in the new house of the person who made them a ‘household’ name again.

They’ve got serious competition at Morton. If they compete and hang in the top three of their class, I am not as worried about them.

I don't think getting third in their class will mean very much- it will matter more if their scores are close.

The judging panel was inconsistent at dunlap, but the judging panel tonight looks better. The scores definitely do matter more, and I'm excited to see how they do against their competitors tonight It's gonna be close. Galesburg, in my opinion, is still growing throughout the season!

I've seen a lot of people talk about inconsistent judging during Dunlap when comparing IVC and Galesburg, but to me, looking at the individual captions, the scores seemed far too close to make the flip-flops inconsistent.

I'm probably missing something here though, so please don't hesitate to correct me if I'm wrong.
