Public Bands of the Year Voting Information

Hey Everyone!

As we talked about a few weeks ago, this year we are going to give everyone a chance to vote in this year’s ILMarching Bands of the Year. All of the details have been finalized and the system in place, so here is how it is going to work.

We are requiring that you register if you would like to cast a ballot. We are doing this to ensure people only vote once, as to not skew the results. If you are a director reading this, email Dan or myself for access to the private BotY vote. More information is given on the registration page, but know up front that the privacy of your email is kept secure. Read more about that on at registration, but know if you have any questions, feel free to email me. So here is what you need to do: Navigate your browser to http://ilmarching.com/publicBotySignup.php to sign up. From here you can read some information regarding the voting processes. At the bottom you will enter your email address that you wish to register. An email will promptly be sent to that address with your username and random password.

Once you have your login information, you can go to http://ilmarching.com/botyBallotPublic.php to cast your vote. Note that, while you can register right now, you cannot vote until Sunday morning (November 14th). Voting closes one week later, on November 21st. When voting, consider the following when casting your vote: 1. Consider only shows from THIS year when ordering the bands. 2. Look through the entire ballot for a division before making your choices, as in the past, people have forgotten about bands by selecting too quickly.

When voting ends on the 21st, the composite scores from the public vote will be counted as 1 vote in the real Bands of the Year ballot. If you have any questions about the registration process, the voting processes, or anything dealing with Bands of the Year, don’t hesitate to shoot me an email at moverholt@ilmarching.com. Thanks and Happy Voting!
