  1. Percussion Instructor Needed

    Positions: Marching Band Instructional Staff (Percussion) Where: Providence Catholic High School, New Lenox, IL When: Mid-June through the end of the marching season. Providence Catholic HS is looking for individuals to teach marching percussion during the summer and fall marching band season. The ideal candidates would be able to teach and instruct the students at our weekly rehearsals and sectionals throughout the summer and fall. Duties include running music sectionals, marching basics & technique, and assisting with full ensemble. Our weekly rehearsals during the school year for full band are usually on Monday afternoons from 3:00-5:30pm, and Wednesday evenings from 5:00-9:00pm. Candidates should also be able to attend Saturday camps and competitions. A full schedule of summer camps and fall dates is available upon request. Applicants must be willing to provide instruction to students virtually should in-person camps need to be postponed. Interested applicants should send a short resume/bio with prior experience and several references to Lawrence Rogers: Director of Bands, Providence Catholic HS. The ideal candidates would be able to teach and instruct the students at our weekly rehearsals and sectionals throughout the summer and fall. Date: Saturday September 30th, 2017. Where: The contest will be held at Providence Catholic’s Matt Senffner Stadium/Field featuring synthetic turf (installed in 2012). When: Typically our contest starts around 3:00pm and is an afternoon/evening show.   9. Aviation Props For Sale

    Providence Catholic High School has twelve aviation/flight themed props for sale! The props measure 4 feet wide by 8 feet tall and will work seamlessly with the "Jarvis System-Blue" Media Movers, however they can easily be converted to work for any group. Six of the panels have images of planes, propellers, aviation icons etc (Amelia Earhart), and the other six have images of vintage passports, luggage, and travel tickets (could work well with a travel themed show or winter guard show too!) The props are all digitally and professionally printed on 11 ounce vinyl and are adhered to sturdy plywood with a six inch 'bleed' around the back-side of the panels. Interested ensembles can pick up the props at Providence Catholic High School, which is easily accesible at I-80 and Maple Ave in New Lenox, IL. Asking only $400 but will consider all offers.   11. Providence Catholic High School is looking for a Brass Staff Member and Assistant Director for the 2016 Summer camps and Fall Season. The Brass Staff Member will be working directly with the marching brass during sectionals, full ensemble, and helping with their drill on the field. The Assistant Band Director position after the summer months is only an after school position (for individuals with a full time teaching or full time job elsewhere, a great means to supplement your income!) Both positions are stipend positions and could be combined if candidate shows great strengths in both areas! Immediate Opening: Position: Colorguard Instructor Where: Providence Catholic HS, New Lenox, IL When: Now through the marching band season (late October), could also turn into a Winterguard position. Providence Catholic HS is seeking an individual to work with the colorguard section thoughout the Full Band Camp and throughout the fall rehearsals. Our band camp schedule is: July 27th - July 31st: 1:00-9:00pm Monday through Thursday; 9:00am-noon on Friday August 3rd - 7th: 1:00-9:00pm Monday through Thursday; 9:00am-noon & 6:00-8:00pm for the Parent Preview Performance. When school begins, our rehearsals are typically on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-9:00pm, with some other sectional time as well. The ideal candidate would be able to choreograph body and dance work for the show, as well as assisting in writing equipment work for flag, rifle, and sabre.     Position: Front Ensemble Instructor Where: Providence Catholic High School, New Lenox, IL When: Mid August through the end of the marching season (late October) Providence Catholic HS is looking for an individual to continue working with the Front Ensemble during the school months and marching band season. The ideal candidate would be able to teach and instruct the students at our weekly rehearsals and sectionals. Our weekly rehearsals for full band are usually on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-9:00pm, there is also sectional time allotted outside once a week outside of those full ensemble rehearsals. If the candidate could also attend our contests on Saturdays it would be a plus, but not required.     Providence Catholic HS Bands will be proud to host their annual Marching Band Invitational on September 26th, 2015! It is tentatively scheduled as an early to mid-afternoon contest. This year's judging panel has been assembled by WGI Hall of Famer, Jimmy Haskell from Indianapolis, Indiana.
