uincy Octoberfest is a parade and field show competition. The parade marches west down historic Maine street. The streets are lined with band loving audience members and historic architecture. The Field show competition takes place at Flinn Memorial Stadium. Our stadium seats approximately 3,500 people, creating a fantastic atmosphere for marching band performances and a great vantage point for audience members. You may choose to compete in either events or both. Details: Date - October 18, 2025 Times - PARADE 10:00am (Maine Street) - FIELD COMPETITION 1:00pm (Flinn Stadium) For more information please contact Debbie Johnson or Jeff Duffy at 217-224-3774 At the end of the night we have a full band retreat for the awards ceremony. Awards are given by school size, best from each state represented, caption awards, grand champion, and sweepstakes. New this year: We will be utilizing BOA judging sheets and Competition suite to ensure the best experience for all attending bands! Following the awards, a fireworks display is set off giving the students an opportunity to celebrate their hard work and achievements!
