I’m interested to see the Batavia/Romeoville difference. Having them go back to back at ISU is insane.
Ether
Waukee and Naperville were smaller bands compare to Romeoville and Oswego. Edited September 23 by Ether

All bands in class 3a did great and also topped 4a! I watched both classes, some of 4a shows aren't finished yet, which is okay. Also scores for music performance is very interesting. My predictions were wrong(Yes I didnt show my predictions.) Everyone's shows are strong and i'm looking forward to ISU. Very solid showing for Naperville Central sitting at 85 kids and could have been in 2A. Unfortunately they won't be at ISU or U of I this season. Suburbanbandfan
Thoughts on NIU 1. Why are bands getting scores in the 30s/40s? Do these judges not understand this isn’t DCI. Are these judges the same each year. I wouldn’t want to come back to NIU if I know bands are getting low balled. We wonder why programs aren’t competing anymore. 2. Top three were Hersey, Romeoville, and Oswego. Davenport Central didn’t have much success here, but scored higher last week at Andrew. Nice to see Waukee NW. There program was nice to watch. I know a lot of groups that have been frustrated by this.

I think, historically, there've been some low scores. 80 or 100 scores in the 20s and 30s seem a little outrageous to me. I like band!

Moves up and down like the powerball? If I need a formula to understand your score, can't you just help us all out and score these shows out of 100? Dan Balash
Directors: Email Phantom Regiment and NIU and tell them that this is unacceptable. This has happened for several years now with low scores and other concerns. Hopefully the tapes are reflecting the scores given, but I doubt it. There are other shows with a big time feel (EIU, WIU, ISU, U of I) that would be more than happy to have you and won't screw you over. This is an expensive show to attend ($375, plus optional addons). This should be a quality show. 1 Dan Balash Submit your 2025 information! I present to you the 2010 Red & Black Fall Classic, which I believe was the first time held in DeKalb in conjunction with NIU. https://ilmarching.com/festivals_detail.php?FestivalID=173&archive=0 https://ilmarching.com/uploads/rbfcrecap2010.pdf Visual Performance Individual (10 points) was quite a doozy. Judged by 2007 Phantom Regiment drum major Darian Sanders, Class A ranged from 0.65 (Genoa-Kingston) to 1.90 (T.F. South). AA from 0.85 (Evanston) to 2.40 (Wheaton Warrenville South). AAA from 1.65 to 3.05. AAAA from 1.75 to a robust 4.20. We had overall scores ranging from a 16.80 (again, poor Genoa-Kingston) to your champions in Prospect with a 75.55. The range in A was 16.80-44.40, AA was 26.10 to 52.50, AAA 35.50-67.40, and AAAA from 25.20 - 75.55 1 Dan Balash Submit your 2025 information!
