Slight change here. D.D. Eisenhower has moved to 5:30 PM; there's now a break in between Coal City and Morrison. Batavia, Wheaton North, Crystal Lake South and NIU all shift 15 minutes later.

To be fair though, Paris would have won Robinson by a fairly considerable margin (1.5), if guard, percussion and drum major weren't added into the final score. But I digress; that's another post for another time (soon, I hope). Last year, Paris had Effingham in their class for Robinson's show (Newton played up a class and scored higher.) Also had Monticello a higher class, lost to them there, soundly beat them at Newton. They barely beat Alton last year at EIU, and then lost to Monticello and IVC at U of I, and Eureka at ISU. Newton had a good year in 2021 coming out of COVID, Paris had a great year in 2022 making ISU finals. 2024, they seem to be back in the same class, and it looks like they're going to be trading off victories.

I really like Batavia's show, "On Top of Spaghetti." Their performance scores at VJA weren't great, but their general effect scores were 2nd overall on the day. If they can up the performance scores, I'm all for them taking the "cheesiest design but can play their butts off" mantle previously held by Naperville North.
