Week 4 of the season is now upon us. 5 competitions in state, and Victor J. Andrew will travel to compete in the Bands of America regional in Centerville, Ohio. Best of luck to all bands competing this weekend.
Olympia Spartan Parade and Field: Olympia, IL
Class A: So far only LeRoy has competed this year. So without know much about the shows in Class A, we will give it to them. Our Pick: LeRoy
Class 2A: Eureka will build on their success last weekend and should take 2A. Our Pick: Eureka
Class 3A: Dunlap has been strong the past few weeks, and should take 3A. Look for University to give them a run for their money. Our Pick: Dunlap
Grand Champion: Grand Champion is a combined parade and field score at this show. Because of that, top three for GC will be University, Mahomet and Eureka. This will be a close one, expecially since University and Eureka are both gearing up for Class 1A at ISU together. Our Pick: University
Marching Maroons Band Festival: Robinson, IL
Class C: We think Okaw Valley will take this class.
Class B: Marion will impress the judges and win this class.
Class A: We think Newton will prevail over Rich Central and East Richland.
Grand Champion: Newton
McKendree Preview of Champions: Lebanon, IL
Class A: Johnston City looks to win this class as they gear up for ISU in a few weeks.
Class AA: Continuing after a good showing, Urbana looks to win this class as they also gear up for ISU.
Class AAA: Collinsville starts their season this weekend, and looks to win their first class after all the drama with their old directors.
Class AAAA: This is a tough class to call. Fort Zumwalt West and Highland have both finished in the middle of the pack at their respective competitions, and Mascoutah has not competed at all. Our pick: Highland
Grand Champion: We think Collinsville will come from 3A and win this competition. Our pick: Collinsville
A.A. Stagg Jamboree: Palos Hills, IL
Class A: Though we think this class will be close, we’re giving the slight nod to Brother Rice/St. Laurence.
Class AA: With their typically strong percussion, Romeoville looks to take this class.
Class AAA: Naperville Central has been steadily improving and looks to take a class win this week.
Grand Champion: Naperville Central
Prospect Knight of Champions: Mt. Prospect, IL
1A: Lincoln-Way West looks to pick up another class victory after a solid victory at Morton a couple of weeks ago.
2A: After hosting their own competition coupled with a solid performance at Lake Park, Wheeling looks to win this class.
3A: This class will be an excellent indicator of how ISU will turn out, with Lake Park, Morton and Naperville North (and Prospect, performing in exhibition) all in this class. We think Lake Park will win their class.
Grand Champion: Lake Park
