Dan Balash 244 Report post Posted November 23, 2014 I wonder if Lake Central in St. John has given any consideration to hosting a competition now that their school renovation is almost complete. Their closest show in 2014 was 88 miles away in Lafayette. It could give the Northwest Indiana/south suburb schools another good show to consider.

Dan Balash 244 Report post Posted February 15, 2015 Based on past, history, I'd guess O'Fallon. Maybe Prospect? O'Fallon has St. Louis on their calendar. I would make a bold prediction and say Lincoln Community, East Peoria, Metamora, Collinsville and maybe 1-2 other bands will join them. Maybe Murphysboro? Who knows. Dan Balash 244 Report post Posted February 18, 2015 I'm very interested in the USBands competition ... any more info? Is it prelims/finals format? What about classes? Anything else? USBands is a program of Youth Education in the Arts, which is also known as the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps parent. It will likely be a one performance show. There's different levels of shows - gold and silver star. A silver star show provides a basic 4 judge system: music performance individual and ensemble, visual performance, and overall effect. A gold star show adds a percussion judge and a color guard judge. All local shows include an adjudicator's critique after the last band has performed. Bands are classified based on experience of the band (Class A and Open), and then based on total number of performers in their band from Group I to Group VI.
