Also, while I'm thinking about it...early season shows, why not try and attract a group or two from Indiana to attend your show?  Now that Indiana groups don't have to worry about ISSMA events until mid-October (Districts have been cancelled completely), maybe a Munster or a Lake Central would consider attending a show in Illinois?  :thumbsup:

 

Edit: Looks like Munster is planning on doing Providence/CMBF/Prospect.  Awesome!

Edit 2: Their calendar is way off, so that's not right...

Many Indiana school districts limit travel across state lines, some to just 50 miles. I would love to get schools from Indiana, but I have several friends that are directors there that have complained about the limited travel.

Directors,

 

Time is running out to receive your $75 discount  and it would be great to have your band for the 2nd annual Providence Catholic Marching Band Invitational on Saturday September 28, 2013.  Register on or before January 31st.

 

 

The competition will begin at 4pm.  The fee to participate is $200.  Bands Registering before January 31st will receive a $75 discount

 

You and your band will have a great experience.  We can accommodate bands performing earlier in the day or later in the evening.

 

 

Judging this year, so far: Randy Isoda, Rich Kemp, Mike Madonia, Anthony LaBounty(Director at UNLV, tentative), Chuck Naffier, Michael Teare, David Wiles, and Ryan Miller.

 

We have 8 bands so far and can only accommodate 16-18. 

 

Awards will be given for captions in: Color Guard, Percussion, General Effect, Visual Performance, Music Performance.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be award in Class A, AA, and AAA.  A grand champion will also be named.

 

The Contest will also feature:

-All Performances on our new field turf and new lights

-A well organized band competition that is performer friendly.

-A Great Selection of food at our concession stand which is always owned and operated by our band parents.

-Class System based on band size:

            -Class A - up to 64 players

            -Class AA - 65 to 96 players

            -Class AAA - 97 or more players

            -Exhibition - non-competitive

The Normal West Bands proudly announce the

Second Annual Normal West Marching Band Invitational at Illinois Wesleyan University

Saturday, September 21, 2013

 

Competitive classes are determined by band size, and we are pleased to offer a noncompetitive class which will provide adjudicator feedback for ensembles that do not wish to be scored.

 

The Invitational will be held at Illinois Wesleyan University's Tucci Stadium at Wilder Field, the fifth oldest football stadium in the NCAA.  New artificial turf was installed at Tucci Stadium in 2011.
