Here's how finals will work for this year:

The field for finals competition will be composed of 14 bands:

- 7 finalists from 1A-4A: four 1A-4A class winners, plus the next three highest 1A-4A scores, regardless of class

- 7 finalists from 5A-6A: two 5A-6A class winners, plus the next five highest 5A-6A scores, regardless of class

 

7:30 1A-4A bottom 4.

7:44 1A-4A bottom 4.

7:58 5A-6A bottom 3.

8:12 1A-4A bottom 4.

8:26 5A-6A bottom 3.

8:40 1A-4A bottom 4.

8:54 5A-6A bottom 3.

Interesting that Wheeling is not driving down to ISU...I really liked their show.

Any major changes that everyone should notice?

 

I saw Lincoln Way-Central drop to 4A.

A few new bands from 1A-4A, will be nice to see how they stack up.

O'Fallon and Belleville East ambushed 5A-6A (Good Contenders, similar to LWC with 1A-4A.)

 

Anything else?

 

ISU is going to be an interesting competition. ;D

He makes a great judge tape.  It's unfortunate (in my opinion, fortunate for a lot of bands) that he's not judging on-field, as he will get right in the drill and get good reads on music from most every performer.
