I need your help!

Recommended Posts

So the hard drive on my laptop failed the other day, giving me the "blue screen of death." What I need from you is programs that I should download for my computer (preferably free), as I honestly can't remember all of what I had.

Here's what I have thus far:

-AIM

-iTunes

-Firefox

-Google Chrome

-Adaware

-Adobe Acrobat

-Spybot Search and Destroy

-FileZilla

-Last .fm

-Gmail notifier

-Replay Media Catcher

-DVD Video Soft Studio

-Open Office

Also, feel free to suggest plugins for firefox

Not sure what you use for AV, I'm a big fan of AVG (grisoft.com).

I'd add notepad++ (for test editing) and Stardock, just because it's cool.

use VLC for media (video) playing. No codecs needed for 99% of files. It just plays everything.

BTW, you might want to start getting in the habit of backing up your hard drive. It'll make this much less of an issue next time (and there will be a next time).

I have all of my music (60+ GB) in 3 different places. Files are all on jump drives.

I didn't lose anything save for programs.
