  1. Scores for the weekend of October 27, 2012

I agree, but That's just the way the cookie crumbles when it comes to ISU. Herscher was almost a full 20 points behind LWW in prelims but because of the silly way that ISU is set up, Herscher got to perform in finals and not LWW. No one's bitter, but egregiously unjustifiable situations like this should be an indicator that this system isn't what it ought to be. Personally, I think ISU finals should be like BOA. If we're going to keep our 1-4A and 5-6A blocks, then the 7 HIGHEST scores from 1A-4A and the 7 HIGHEST scores from 5-6A should get in and then the class champions who didn't make the cut perform in exhibition. BOA Does it, even the Lake Park Lancer Joust does it this way. I think it's the most logical. Because, honestly? A 56 can get you into finals but a 76 can't?

Aghh!! LWW 1st band out AGAIN! But this time only by 0.2! Everyone's right in saying this was extremely close. Wow!
  3. Scores for the weekend of October 27, 2012

Hold your horses...they'll be up shortly. Just got a better picture of the recap now. Thanks, Dan! You're the greatest
  4. Scores for the weekend of October 27, 2012

When do we get to see 1A-4A?
  5. Scores for the weekend of October 27, 2012

They bring a brand of no bs solid marching band that I wish more bands would bring. No props, no tarps, no gimmicks, no smoke and mirrors, just solid, classic, no nonsense marching band. Anyone who is disappointed in them doesn't appreciate the genre for what it is. If I remember correctly, their show last night included a huge tarp and helium-filled balloons released at the end. In fact, I can't remember the las time they did a show without tarps or props..... It was Altered State (2005) where they were the highest scoring band in Prelims

    Excited to see prelims scores/recaps
  7. Scores for the weekend of October 27, 2012

Having watched both performances, I definitely think Morton should have gotten that. Either way, I'm sure that caption was very close. If the past is any indicator, I bet LWW was more or less on Morton's heels.
  8. Scores for the weekend of October 27, 2012

Incredible that LWW took GE over Morton, especially after Morton took the GE caption at St. Louis!
  9. Who Makes Finals from 1A-4A at ISU?

LW Showcase just ended, watched all four bands. I think west has a better shot than central. Lemont and UT? I don't think so. Bloomington will finally make a comeback. LWC will also be joining the fray in finals. 1A: Eureka (I cheered for IVC last time, but all the results are pointing to Eureka...I will be cheering for IVC) 2A: Morton (Will most likely place top 3 in 1A-4A) 3A: Marian Catholic (Who ever gets 2nd & maybe 3rd is in finals) 4A: LWN (Expect Plainfield North to put up a good fight & maybe an upset) Class Champions respectively, Plainfield North, Bloomington, and LWC. However, I do enjoy LWW show. I really hope they break. You could be right. I wasn't a fan of Bloomington's show at U of I, but that could've been my vantage point. I, too, am not totally ready to count out LWW. They were only 0.5 behind Bloomington at U of I, which was remarkable considering their show pretty obviously tore for about 4 bars. If they can pull it together before Saturday, they could definitely show up in finals. Wouldn't it be fun if LWW and LWC both made it? As crazy as it would be to have 4 LW bands, I bet we only get 2 (maybe 3). LWW likely won't make the cut. They don't seem to be having as strong of a year as the past couple have been.
  10. Come see the four bands from the L-W district perform their field shows this Wednesday (10/24/12). Think of it as an ISU preview, as all four of these sister schools are viable contenders going into this Saturday's competition. The showcase will take place at Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox starting with Lincoln-Way East at 7:00 pm followed by LWC, LWN, and finally LWW. See you there!

  13. Who Makes Finals from 1A-4A at ISU?

I think I'm going to have to agree with Renegade. Eureka, Morton, Marian, LWN, Plainfield North, Lemont, UT
  14. Who wins 4A at ISU?

I'm not so sure LWC will make finals. I now think that East and North will be the only LW bands in finals this weekend.
